Banking is a major challenge for cannabis businesses because many banks are hesitant to do business with them due to the federal prohibition on marijuana. 280e is a section of the Internal Revenue Code that prohibits businesses that derive income from the sale of federally illegal drugs from deducting their ordinary and necessary expenses.
